What to expect
Your first visit: simple, calm, unhurried.
Plan on about an hour for your first appointment. We’ll do a thorough exam, take any X-rays we need, clean your teeth if there’s time, and walk you through anything we see — in plain language, with no pressure.
Before you arrive: please complete your registration online if you can. This saves time at the front desk and lets your hygienist see your medical history before she greets you. Bring your insurance card, your photo ID, and a list of medications you take regularly.
When you arrive: our front desk will greet you, double-check the paperwork, and walk you back to your operatory. Your hygienist will start with a quick conversation about anything that’s been bothering you (sensitivity, pain, cosmetic concerns) and then take any X-rays we need.
The exam itself is comprehensive: every tooth, every existing filling and crown, gum measurements, oral cancer screening, jaw and bite check. Dr. Weatherwax will introduce herself, review what we found, and walk you through any treatment we’d recommend — with honest pricing and an explanation of what happens if you wait.
If you’re due for a cleaning and there’s time, we’ll do that the same visit. If your case needs more time, we’ll schedule it as a separate appointment. Either way, you’ll leave with a written plan and clear next steps.
